Volunteer positions
need to be filled for the 2008/2009 school year
These positions
must be filled. If not, our scholarships and the ability to
support the music needs of the school will suffer. Look through the list
below of opportunities and help us out. It's a lot of fun working with the
students, teachers and Booster parents.
Treasurer
Work with Mr. Buti, Mr. Riggs and the
Booster Executive Committee and parents. Write checks; reimburse parents,
pay invoices, teachers and suppliers from Boosters account. Keep the books
in balance using “Quick Books” General Accounting (very easy) adding and
subtracting. Authorize checks to be cut and perform a quick year end audit
with (2) other parents to make sure books are in order.
Please contact Linda King at
lipper4@comcast.net
or call her at 847-818-8955 for more
information.
Cheesecake Sale
There are two deliveries for Cheescakes.
The first delivery takes place right before Thanksgiving and the second just
before Christmas. Orders are placed through any Band, Orchestra
student or Mr. Buti. Students are given order forms and turn their money in
to Mr. Buti. There are two dates assigned to pick-up cheesecakes at the High
School. The cheesecakes come from Gourmets' Delights. Each
cheesecake sale results in a $5 deposit in a Students account.
Junior High Band night
Coordinator
This event takes place on at a Friday night Home football game. All of the
future band students from the area Junior High schools that flow into
Rolling Meadows High School are invited to come out and play with the
Marching Band before the football game. The Music Boosters serve the Junior
High and Marching Band students pizza and escort them to and from the field.
We need someone to head this up, and get helpers to chaperone and serve
food.
Jazz
in the Meadows /Parents needed to staff many
positions through out the fest. Our largest fundraising event of the year is
"Jazz in the Meadows." In 2009 we
celebrated 24 years of hosting the largest High
School Jazz event/competition in the Midwest. Nearly 100 High School and Junior High Jazz Bands
from all over the Midwest come to play and compete.
This is our single most important event of the
year. We ask that as a band parent; please help
in anyway you can. There are hundred's of
opportunities. Contact
our Booster Co-Presidents for more
information. It's a great day of music and fun. Whether it's all day or just a few
hours we could use your help.
